Thursday night, we went to pasar malam and bought cakes for Kye Xin as usual. That was the last food she ate that night. Friday morning, 5.30am, she woke up, looked at me and suddenly vomited some phlegm and sliver. 10 mins later, she vomited again. I called hubby who was working in office. He is on midnight shift till 7am. At about 6.20am, she vomited again, this round it was all yellowish greenish liquid. I wonder why it happens.
My colleague came to fetch me to work that morning. As a precautionary measure, I brought along a cup, just in case there's forth round of vomiting. And my prediction is correct that the minute I went into her car, Kye Xin vomited.
I told nanny the whole scenario and she asked what did I give her yesterday. I said the cakes in the pasar malam. Immediately she said it must be the cakes, either they are not fresh or they did not handle the food well. I also gave nanny her medicines for her mosquito bites. There are two and it is badly swollen.
At about 8.30am, nanny called me and said she is bringing her to see the doctor. She gave her milk, thinking to feed her medicine after that, but she vomited right away, and it wasn't a normal vomit. I called hubby right away to go over to see her. Hubby came back at about 6.30am and was already prepared in case of emergency.
The doctor confirmed that it is food poisoning. She can't drink milk at least for the whole day, and can only take barley. If she passes out later, then she can take plain porridge or white bread. The whole Friday went on like that and on Saturday, I felt she should be better.
She rejected the soy milk as she is now wiser to choose what she likes and what she dislikes. Saturday, about 5pm, I gave her milk. She did not take much food the whole day and I thought I give her milk which she loves. Little did I know that I am causing much trouble after that.
Hubby drove back to Teluk Intan at about 6pm, together with MIL and SIL. He is to attend a wedding dinner on Sunday night.
The night went on well when I took Kye Xin into the room to change and to sleep. I rubbed oil on her stomach and minutes later, she passes out wind and motion. Hmmm, I wonder, it came back. And I thought I should be giving her the anti vomit medicine. I cleaned her and took her out. As I fed her with the medicine syrup, perhaps she choked herself, suddenly she vomited whatever she ate the whole day. It was terribly unexpected thing to see, and I told myself to be brave and not to cry. First thing I told her to co-operate with me and stand aside. I took the kitchen towels and wiped out whatever was on the floor. Next to dilute some soap and wiped the floor. I couldn't clean them so well because I afraid Kye Xin would have fall if she was to walk on the wet floor. I quickly changed her clothing, fed her with the medicine again and brought her in to sleep. She must have been feeling so uncomfortable, due to the mistake of me giving her milk. I am truly sorry Kye Xin!
I called hubby and nanny to explain the situation. I told nanny to be prepared in case of emergency, I would need her to fetch me to the nearest clinic. She is also kind enough to turn on her handphone the whole night. And she reminded me to maintain the right diet for her on Sunday. No milk, just purely barley, white bread and her soy milk. And I agreed.
At about 3.30am, Kye Xin woke me up. She was dreaming of food I guess, her mouth moving left to right as if she is sucking something. She must have been hungry, poor thing. I woke up and gave her soy milk. She drank all and slept till 9am today.
Nanny called in to check if she is all right. I cooked her barley, and today she passed out diarrhea 4 times, it should be normal to release all the wind out from her stomach. She did not vomit today, but choked a little when I fed her medicine. One thing for sure, she drank much lesser today, 3oz the max. Pity her!
Hopefully by tomorrow, she will recover. Hubby constantly called in to check on her, and I told him that Kye Xin missed him. She stood at the main entrance and called out Papa. Just now when she went into the room, she did call out Papa loudly. Luckily I decided not to travel back with him, with such condition, I'm sure travelling will make things worse for her. He will be back tomorrow, and working from 3pm-11pm. Kye Xin will need to wait till Tuesday morning to talk to her daddy again.
