Angel's very own stroller!

Yesterday we bought Angel a stroller. It is the Maclaren Techno XT stroller. She brought me luck by winning RM250 gift vouchers from Parkson in the contest I entered when I was pregnant. And we thought with this gift, we can buy her a good stroller and can benefit the second child later. Below points summarise our worthwhile purchase:-

1) RM250 gift vouchers
2) 10% discount on the stroller price
3) 5X Bonuslink points
4) RM10 cash voucher for each RM150
5) Angpau from relatives and friends

Hubby and I compared among a few good brands and considered their specifications. Overall, we are looking for a light, easy to fold and convenient stroller. Given that our car is not that big, we would prefer an umbrella fold stroller for easier storage. And surprisingly, when we bought it yesterday, the promoter told us that the stroller does have lifetime warranty on its parts except for wear and tear. That is a good news, it makes our purchase even worthwhile.

More gifts for Angel!

Mum and Jason drove down to KL on Sunday to visit me, baby, Theng & babies, Yee Woon, granny and Aunty Ivy. Though the trip was short, but I'm glad to have all them here, felt like a family get together. Ha ha, hopefully next time they can come and stay longer. Angel also enjoyed the day too. Byan and Bhui grew up alot and it's good to see all them together with my Angel, they surely be close friends later on, can't imagine how's CNY going to be like with them three in da house. Mum and Jason went back at about 5+pm.
At night, Goh, Li Lee, Wai Jen and Simon came to our house. They bought Angel a set of bodysuit with accessories plus a baby oil and baby bath. Thank you all.

And yesterday, Francesca, my wedding makeup artist visited me. She bought Angel a diaper bag and bought me Brands Chicken Essense. I'm very happy to see her and we got to chat awhile. Thank you Francesca for the lovely gift.

Not forgetting, Yoke Kwan and her mum came a week earlier to visit me and Angel. She presented me with Anakku hamper as well. Thank you very much.

At night, we drove Angel to see doctor. She is 6.25kg now, growing at about 97% percentiles. Doctor said she is at the top now, but not overweight yet. He commented about her rashes on the face and also her head. He gave her cream to apply, shampoo and also body bath. Doc also examined her and what amused us is Angel stared at the doctor with her big eyes quietly. Hahahahaha.....I even showed doc the photo of her stool, doc said it is normal and do not have to change her milk brand.
Hubby also went to see her ex-renovation boss and he gave Angel an ang pau. Thank you!

Merry X-mas!!!

Merry X-mas!!! After attending Phaik Har's wedding in the morning, we brought Angel to 1U. I can't remembered how much time we spent finding car park. Hubby was so frustrated that he kept on telling Angel to give him luck. Hahahahahaha, after he pat her head, immediately there's a family walking out towards us and drove out. He was so happy that he actually believe her little girl gave him luck....lagi lah sayang!
Angel was sleeping as usual until I changed her clothings and diaper. She woke up and start to look around with her big eyes. I quickily ask hubby to get ready with his camera and our photoshoot session started........

On and off she will show her sleepy face. We both laughed out loud and she just kept on staring! Overall, this is so far the most satisfying photoshoot we ever had!

Angel is 6 weeks old!

Yesterday it was 'Goh Tung' festival and it also mark Angel 6 weeks old. Time really flies, I am about to start work very soon. No 'tong yuen' to eat, hubby didn't buy. But we spent the night snaping lots of photos with Angel. Can't upload all here, just a few to share. She really is growing cuter....

Though the first shot is shaky, but i love to see her face!!

Now we can see clearly, they both really look alike......jealous-nya!

And today, we brought her to PPUM for injection. She had three vaccination all together, one jab on the left thigh, one on the right thigh and one via liquid into her mouth. She did not cry much, just five seconds when the nurse poke the needle into her thigh. Good girl, I praise her....
She is now sleeping lesser in the day time, and would want me to be by her side or carry her often. I've been telling her not to do that and she just stared at me. And good news, yesterday night, after her milk at 1am, she slept until 6am. I was also surprised how come i didn't wake up, haha, not used to sleep for 5hrs straight......perhaps she is tired or perhaps this is the beginning of a normal sleeping cycle.....pray to God that Angel will sleep well at night from now on!

Angel's second day out : 20 December 2009

Yesterday we took Angel to Jusco Alpha Angle, Wangsa Walk Mall and Carrefour Wangsa Maju. As usual, she slept the whole time there. We went to Jusco and see some of the promotions they had there. I was checking on her clothings and thought to buy a few for upcoming Chinese New Year. I love all those dresses but didn't dare to buy as I do not know what exact size to buy. Hubby looked around and said children clothings were even more expensive than his clothings....Hahahahaha, I replied, "Now only you know ar!!!" We ended up buying nothing, hubby wanted to go and look for more choices yet..his attitude as usual.
At Wangsa Walk Mall, hubby spent me lunch at TGIF, replacement meal for my birthday and wedding anniversary. Angel continued to sleep too and both of us had some time together and enjoyed our meal. We went to Carrefour to buy some groceries and still she was sleeping....A Malay lady came up to hubby and commented on our cute baby. Then she asked him, "berapa bulan ar?" 3 or 5 months? Hubby just showed hand signal, 1 month. The lady replied, "wow, besarnya!!!" So funny......I even heard the promoters there praised my cute baby when hubby passed through them. I just felt so proud!
After that, we decided to bring Angel to shave her hair. The night before, my MIL called and reminded us to bring her to shave as her hair would be very long by now. Initially, we thought to shave during full moon, but couldn't as her head swell at the right side. As hubby was driving, he kept on saying he didn't want her to shave, not so fast. He was so reluctant to let her shave. I said better do it now as she is sleeping. Who knows, by the time we reached there, Angel woke up. It was also time for milk.....I fed her with milk and told her that I am bringing her to shave her hair, and told her to be good. She just looked at me with the innocent look.
During her time there with the barber, she didn't cry much, just 'merajuk' abit at the very last few minutes. Lucky for us, turned out to be both me and hubby were more anxious than her. We reached home and I quickily bathed her and changed.
She now look like a little monk. Hubby still wasn't used to see her new look now. He said he will take her photo everyday from now, just to observe how her new hair grows. The shots below were taken after her bath...

Angel's day out : 18 December 2009

Yesterday it was Angel's first day out. Hubby and I took her to Midvalley Megamall for jalan jalan and to enjoy the Christmas season there. I have been telling her to be good ever since the night before. And in the morning, I ask her to settle her big business first..Ha ha ha, I was lucky, she really did that before her bath. We put her in a very nice blouse and pants, gift from sis's SIL.

Hubby was very excited and happy to see her dressed up. However, he failed to make her smile during these shots. There's one close up shot which I like:-

After I fed her with milk, we made our move to Midvalley. She was already half asleep in the car. Since we have not got ourselves a baby stroller yet, I carried her. We also need to check out the stroller prices and also the features for each brand. Surprisingly, the minute we entered Midvalley, Angel became Sleeping Beauty instantly. Notice her sleeping time is still unadjusted yet. Believe it or not, she slept the whole time there. She couldn't be bothered with the crowd and the noise there. The only time she is awake is her milk session and also when I changed her diaper. That was also lasted less than 5 minutes. Hubby is so sad as he wanted to snap her with the Christmas deco there. Still he said, since we are there, just take the photos.....so you would see most of the photos she is asleep....

There's one which she was awake.....

We went to several stores to check out on the stroller. still have not decided which one to buy...lots of factors to consider....hubby wanted to wait for even better bargains...

Wonder when is the next baby's day out again...

How to adjust??

Angel's time seem to be the other way round. She can spend the whole daytime sleeping but wake up frequently during night time. Somehow I find her couldn't sleep well during night time. I tried alot of methods, still no change. Whenever I try to wake her up in the afternoon, she doesn't seem to bother at all. What should I do?
This week, I also find something different. Whenever she taken her milk at about 6am, she will continue awake till the next milk session or even until 12noon. And in these hours, she would cry for attention and will want me to carry her. I can't simply carry the way I wanted, she preferred me to put her on my chest. Aiyoh.....and if I see her slept already, I would put her back to the babycot. What happened next is she will awake and start crying again. Yesterday was the worst, she wanted me to be by her side, I can't even wash the clothes, have breakfast or even go to the toilet. She now recognises my voice already. Ohhh, did I pamper her too much?
Whenever she is awake, I always tell her to sleep more at night and wake up during day and talk to me. And whenever she wants me to carry, I will say what if I start working, will she get used to Grandma or even later the babysitter?
Today, she's 5 weeks old. Time really flies and both hubby and I are enjoying seeing her growing day by day. Hubby now calls her 'bao bei' and loves her very much! The shots below are taken right after her bath today:-

Day 34

It has been a week I spent alone with Angel at home. My daily routine is to bathe her and feed her with milk. Then put her to sleep. I will then continue to hand wash her clothes, cook and clean the house. Overall, it is still manageable given that I am still in my maternity leave.
Angel is still waking up every 3 hours during night for milk, her condition is much better than before as she will sleep right after being fed. Previously, she didn't sleep well and it makes me tired.
I had started to talk to her about alot of things, hoping that she will understand.....hahahahaha, expecting her to be like an adult...
Now that I called her name or "Baby", somehow she understood, and she will smile at me cheerfully. Looking at her everyday, hubby said she really grow up alot. One habit she can't seem to avoid is she keep on sleeping on her right side. Her left head no longer swell as I massaged it with my breastmilk. No matter how I tried to adjust her head or placing a pillow beside, she will return to the same position. That is why my sis commented that her right head is flat. We need to buy her a better pillow. I already checked in the website, and now waiting for hubby to purchase it.
This morning, after her milk at 6am, she refused to sleep. And after awhile, she cried....it is because she need me to change her diaper, there's plenty of shit inside...Hubby laughed, Angel would hint us everytime she settle her big business. You can see her smily and calm face right after I changed her diaper. And just before her bathing time, I managed to snap a few shots of my CUTE BABY!!!

Angel experiencing first power failure

Saturday night, all of the sudden, power failure. My first reaction, my baby. I quickly ask hubby to open the main door as there's corridor light. Thank goodness, she was asleep that time. I open my eyes widely just to ensure no mosquito attacking her. And hubby also fan her just in case she is hot. We don't want her to wake up in the middle of darkness. I called the TNB customer service to report the power failure. Luckily the power was restored in less than half an hour.
Hubby said to Angel, first power failure, you were in Mummy's womb, now you experience yourself first power failure. Hahahaha, I do not know if she understood what hubby said.

Finally!!!!

Today mark Day 30 of Angel's arrival. And also my graduation day from confinement. Huh, big relief. I knew I can't simply eat any food I want now, but at least I knew I don't have to eat ginger and sesame oil in every meal now.
Today is also my third day alone with Angel. She was not sleeping well yesterday night, keep on crying. No matter what I did, she is not comfortable at all. She must be not feeling well.....poor thing! And she spent her day time sleeping like a sleeping beauty. Couldn't be bothered with any noises and disturbance at all.
On Tuesday night, hubby took the chance to snap more photos of her. And this round, I have the chance to be in the shot with my Angel as well.

Thank you Daddy for this wonderful shot!

This one not too bad too!

There is also one shot where Daddy caught her smiling cheerfully.

One more of my favourite shot, she was yawning and we caught that. She must be thinking, this Mummy and Daddy got nothing else to do already....hahahahhahaha.....

Now I just pray and pray and pray that Angel will sleep well during night time. Hopefully her sleeping time will be back to normal.

Me alone with Angel!

After the full moon party, we headed to Teluk Intan on Monday morning. Reason being to pray the ancestors. MIL went back to have a rest. Hubby drove me and Angel home the same day as he can't take day off on Tuesday.
And today, I started my days alone with Angel. She wasn't sleeping well during night time, kept waking up. I woke up at 8.30am, and quickly rush to bathe Angel as she is due to drink milk by then. MIL had me trained two days earlier on how to bathe her. I am slowly picking up and glad that Angel love to be bathed. Then she had milk at 9am.
She slept the whole afternoon, waking up for milk in the middle and continue to sleep. Hubby came back at about 7pm and took a few photos of Angel as she is awake. I wiped her face and body and get her changed as the weather is hot today. Hopefully she will sleep well tonight.
I am to start working on 11 Jan. Till then, we will take Angel back to Teluk Intan. MIL will help me to take care of her until Chinese New Year. We will start the babysitting service after CNY.

Full moon party cum Wedding anniversary : 6 December 2009

We organized a full moon party for Angel. We make it earlier coz the actual day would be in the weekday and also to celebrate together our 1st year wedding anniversary. Hubby called some food (fried bihun, fried mee, curry chicken, deep fried spring roll, carrot cake, fried pau) from a restaurant in Desa Setapak, MIL made yellow glutinous rice, red eggs, SIL made egg sandwich and coleslaw and hubby bought honeydew and 'ang ku'. It was just a simple lunch and we invited hubby's relatives, my relatives and some close friends.
Angel was sleeping the whole day, couldn't be bothered with the noise and crowd. Everyone praised her thick hair and also her height. Just that they didn't have the chance to see her awake. And I was busy and forgotten about taking photos of the event. Hmmm, no photos to show.....
We would like to thank everyone who came and thank for their gifts and ang pau. I remembered what my MIL & grandma said, last year this date, we become husband and wife, this year this date, we become mummy and daddy. And I quickily replied, there's not going to be another baby the following year, not too soon. I must give myself a rest and also time to raise Angel first. Hahaha.....

My birthday 2 December 2009

Happy Birthday to Me
Happy Birthday to Me
Happy Birthday to Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Happy Birthday to Me!

It's my birthday yesterday. Hmmm, like what I said to everyone, MIXED FEELINGS! This year, Kuan Yin had blessed me with Angel and she is the best birthday gift I ever received. And having her on my birthday is a joy I wouldn't ever forget. However, celebrating in the confinement period wasn't something I ever wanted. With gingers and sesame oil, so miserable. I requested MIL to cook mee suah with egg for my dinner. That is the traditional way of celebrating birthday.
Hubby bought me a birthday cake after work. And having a slice of it really makes my day. He asked me to take a shot with my Angel just before cutting the cake. He said we must celebrate together with her, which is why he insisted to take photo with her even she is sleeping. Aiyoh, this daddy, so excited.

Mybirthday cake

Posing with Angel, notice she is sleeping!
