Right after my Cameron trip, we took a trip back to Taiping. I was scheduled for a tonsillectomy surgery on 16 Feb 2009, 2pm. I had tonsillitis problem since young and depended very much on the antibiotics. The antibiotics seem not helpful anymore and b4 I get myself pregnant, I decided to go for this. My husband drove me to Columbia Asia Hospital in Taiping and I got myself admitted at 11.01 am. Mum came along too and three of us admired the building designs since it just started its operation less than a year ago. This is the first surgery I had in my lifetime. After they left, I was alone in the room till 1pm, the nurse asked me to change and get myself ready. She gave me a sleeping pill too. I was asked to lie on a bed and they pushed me to the operating room, where I was transferred to another bed. The nurses and doctors were friendly enough, asking me alot of questions, and surprised that I'm not sleepy at all. Blood pressures and heart beat rate were checked, they were all perfectly normal. The anaesthetic doc said I'm not nervous at all. I was then pushed into the operating theatre and transferred to another bed again with a donut shape pillow. The doc gave me oxygen to breathe in, and what I remembered he injected something through my hand and the next minute I woke up, it was 4.20pm.
I was transferred back to ward, and Doc Sudha came to say that i'm her 521st case of tonsillectomy and 2nd difficult case she had. I was only given ice cream and soya bean at 8.30pm. Today, I'm glad that I can eat on fish porridge and kuey teow soup. And I'm now discharged and resting at home. I'll be returning to the doc for checkup after a week's time.
One new experience I had, proud and happy that I can face it bravely. Thank you to hubby, Mum, Papa and Jason who were there to visit me and to all friends and colleagues who text me. Also thank you to Kuan Yin Ma for blessing me. I'll be recovering very very soon.
