Chinese New Year 2009

This year's CNY would definately not be the same for me. Unlike previous years, I'm now with my husband and we are spending our CNY in parents-in-law's house. I have to make myself to adapt to the way they celebrate the occassion. It's like moving into another different world...from a modern family environment to a traditional, rules based family environment. I do admired the way they prayed to the ancestors and the Gods. All steps are well taken care of and I tried best not to disobey any one of them. My mother-in-law always make the best soup ever!! And my father-in-law will always smile and I think I can click with him in any topic. Perhaps, this is only the beginning....things will change again when the special someone comes into our life. And I'm sincerely waiting for it to happen! God bless!

Gong Xi Fa Cai and may the Year of Ox will bring us prosperity and good health. May this year will help us both in our career.

10 Rules For A Happy Marriage

I came across a blog and they quoted these 10 rules. And when I searched further, this list came from a couple who reached their 50th wedding anniversary and successfully made their marriage a promise for life. Now, I posted the rules here, and see how much rules we can live by:-

1. Never both be angry at the same time.
2. Never yell at each other unless the house is on fire.
3. If one of you has to win an argument, let it be your mate.
4. If you must criticize, do it lovingly.
5. Never bring up mistakes of the past.
6. Neglect the whole world rather than each other.
7. Never go to sleep with an argument unsettled.
8. At least once every day say a kind or complimentary word to your life partner.
9. When you have done something wrong, admit it and ask for forgiveness.
10. Remember it takes two to make a quarrel.

It may sound simple, I do not know if I can stick to these rules..hahaha.. at least I'm now entering these 10 rules into my brain from now on...

Life After Marriage!!

40 days had passed since the wedding ceremony. Life goes on as usual with an additional title; "Husband & Wife". Our life is now promoted to the next level and I can say I enjoy it so far. It is our effort to make it legal and to add up the love chemistry for both of us. We used to think differently, but now we learn to give and take with each other. I always reminded him that whatever decision he takes, he need to think for both of us. Not him alone anymore.... Hahaha, seems scary isn't it??

We are now waiting for our new home to complete. Until then, we just have a shelter to live in, hahaha, PITY US! Right now, both of us are busy with our own work. I'm tied up with my company's year end closing and he is in transition period of changing his job function.. He worked most of the weekend, sometimes from night till morning.. He must be under stress!! I thought of asking him to share with me his problems and pressures, somehow he doesn't have the time to sit down and talk to me. Even if he worked till morning, he'll just take a short nap and will bring me out to "jalan jalan", which I think is his way of relaxing himself. We both can seriously jalan jalan, sometimes turn out buying nothing. This is one of his strengths I love about!

Honeymoon Trip

We went for our honeymoon trip to Pattaya and Bangkok for 7 days, 6 nights. Many friends wonder what we did there. The answer is WALK AND SHOP, WALK AND SHOP!! The first night was at Pattaya, we engaged on a tour guide to bring us to the Mini Siam, Tiffany's Show and Underwater World Pattaya. Too bad, I did not know that this place was happening, we only had a night there. Pattaya, we'll return to explore you more.

In Bangkok, it is seriously walk and shop, walk and shop. The only places we visited is the Grand Palace, Emerald Buddhist Temple and Safari World. My husband enjoyed the day trip in Safari. Somehow, he loves animal so much that he can resist to go there again if ever we have our next Bangkok trip. Ha ha...

The shopping malls we went too are Siam Paragon, Siam Square, MBK, Central World, Zen, Isetan, Praturnam Centre, Gaysorn and Big C. The night markets would be Praturnam Market and Suan Lum Night Bazaar. We even went to Chatuchak too.. Too much stuff we bought, majority would be souveniers for relatives and friends. Overall, it is a tiring yet enjoyable trip.

My husband did say this is not our honeymoon trip. I do not know why, perhaps we don't really have time for each other. Everyday was like wake up and SHOP!! Hmm, hopefully I'll have another trip soon!!!!
