3 days of no-work worries

It's National Day today. Happy Birthday Malaysia. Somehow I felt it is quieter this year, maybe everyone is afraid to go out due to the H1N1. Still at my area here in Wangsa Maju, there are fireworks here from 12midnite to God knows when. And my Angel kept kicking me the whole night. As if she is celebrating the N-day herself in my womb. Or maybe she felt irritated with the noise outside. Sorry Angel, Mummy is currently in the most happening student area in KL, couldn't avoid all these. Wait till 20 Sept, there will be more peaceful environment for three of us, I hope.
On Saturday, Hubby shifted some stuff to our new house. The curtain lady came over to measure the glass door and window panels. Then we head on to Sunway Pyramid, where there is this Enfa Smart Camp going on. Since I am the Enfamama Club member, I received a SMS to go there to redeem a mystery gift. It turned out to be a tissue box holder, orange yellow colour with a bird maskot wearing a graduation hat. Not too bad!
There is also a booth for pregnant mothers. The lady representative there is kind enough to educate me on the importance of DHA for my Angel's brain and eye development, also for IQ development plus the importance of fiber for the immune system. The one-to-one session lasted about 15mins and I was given a free Enfamama T-shirt plus info pamplets for pregnancy after successfully answering a quiz of 10 questions. The other lady also given me samples of Enfamama milk and also a checklist of 'must-bring' items during delivery of the baby. Here is the list:-

Mummy
  • Pyjamas
  • Undergarments
  • Breastpads
  • Sanitary pads
  • Panties/ disposable panties
  • Room slippers
  • Socks
  • Toiletries - Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Moisturizer, Comb, Soap, Shampoo
  • Face & bath towels
  • Clean clothes for going home
  • Books/magazines
  • Cardigan
Baby
  • Baby cloth
  • Mittens and booties
  • Receiving blanket
  • Disposable diapers
  • Baby wipes
Daddy
  • Jacket
  • Camera/Video camera
  • Charger for camera/Video camera
  • Handphone
  • Handphone charger
  • Snacks
  • CREDIT CARD
Do you notice the last line? Credit card! Hubby laughed looking at this list.

Sunday, Hubby went over to new house to paint. This time, he needs to repair the holes on the wall with cement. Reason being that the air-cond man came to do some hacking for the air-conditioner piping. Hmm, I began to wonder, Hubby is slowly catching up with the renovation techniques. He seemed to start DIY some of the procedures, just to save up the cost of calling the contractor. As usual, he shifted some things there and spent the day there and paint until 4pm. One thing I am not happy with is he does not eat anything since morning. He said he's not feeling hungry. He started his first meal right at 4.30pm.
He asked me to drove him to the CIMB Perfect Livin Exhibition in PWTC. He brought me to see the Electrolux washer. They are selling the 7kg washer, 1000 rpm at RM2,469.00. I intend to buy only the 7kg, 850 rpm which Sen Heng is currently selling at RM 1,949.00. The difference is the spin rpm and also the model I wanted is the old model. I told hubby it is too expensive and I rather wait and source for my wanted model elsewhere.
We went around the exhibition and bought the Yale lock for our door grill. They are selling 2 locks for RM 143.20, FOC 2GB pendrive. The security level is at Level 5. And Hubby also bought me the kitchen weighing scale for RM 23.90, in case I am starting my baking session next time.
We even went to Jusco Wangsa Maju to purchase my face cleanser. I am getting prepared, just in case I finished mine during confinement and I have one to spare. And Jusco is kind enough to give out RM 10 for every RM 100 spent in the Beauty and Cosmetics counter. I bought 2 tubes of cleanser, the sales lady gave me some travel samples and also a biege cream colour handbag. And RM 20 Jusco voucher. I am now collecting the vouchers, to buy stuff for Angel.
In Guardian, I also bought myself the disposable panties. It is for the confinement period. I knew it would be a hassle to wash my panties that time. There is 15% discount for each pack and they are giving out RM 5 cash voucher for each RM 30 spent on the Guardian brand. Hubby used the vouchers I got to buy the Salmon fish oil supplements for his dad, the batteries and also a pack (28pcs) of Drypers Newborn. This is for Angel of course. The price is RM 14.98. One thing we noticed during our purchase, the cashier gave me some samples of panty liners, the liquid for garggling teeth (3 bottles) and also an umbrella. There is no notice saying there will be free gifts. I wondered why. She must have been surprised that I bought alot of the panties from Guardian.
And today, Hubby shifted more things to the new house. As usual, to continue with his painting again. It is now 1.30pm and he is not back yet. I do not know if he had his meal, but I have cooked red bean for him. I am now alone at home, blogging, washing clothes, etc. I am waiting for him to come back home. Today will be the last day for Malaysia Mega Sales. And I planned to use the Jusco vouchers to buy some stuff for Angel, hoping that there will be discounts. Things like the milk dispenser, grooming stuff like nail clippers. I have with me the newborn checklist and I want to ensure that I don't miss any. I am still energetic to walk and I wanted to get things ready. But things like breast pump, I will show Hubby and ask him to buy next time when I need it. They are real costly.

Gathering at LY's house

Last Saturday, we went to LY's house for lunch. This time round, L.Ting, B.Teing & Pris came too. The usual gang would be Elaine, Teoh, Kien Wan and me. Hmm, we have a great laugh that day. Big thank you to LY for cooking such a delicious meal for us. In fact, all are her signature dishes. We took a few shots there and there is one which I like the most.

L.Ting is migrating to Perth soon. Li Noi will not be boring then. Hmm, will miss her & Li Noi alot. I wish her a safe journey to reunite with her husband. And hopefully both of them will succeed there. Make sure they have a place for me when I go over to visit them. Ha ha ha, in my dreams, I do not know when I will have my next overseas trip. Angel must be good, Mummy and Daddy will then bring u to Australia to visit Aunty Lee Ting next year!!!

99%

I went for a gynae checkup yesterday night. I have been passing out soft stools for the past 1-2 weeks. The doc said it is due to gastric, she examined my stomach and said my stomach contains alot of 'wind'. I told her also about changing the milk to another brand. There is also a possibility that I can't adapt to the new milk. She asked me to stop drinking the milk first and provide me the medication. Furthermore, my groin area has fungal infection. I felt itchy. I searched in the web and found it to be common during pregnancy as higher levels of estrogen are produced in our body which in turn influences the vaginal to produce more glycogen (a type of sugar). Yeast growth thrive in such an environment and spreads easily in the reproductive tract. I will have to apply the cream.
Next thing, I asked the doc to perform an ultrasound scan. My Angel is now 1.464kg, just nice for week 28. But the thigh n leg's length is at week 30, which the doc repeated that it is definately a tall baby. I asked more about the gender since the previous scan wouldn't allow us to see it. This round, Doc said it is 99% girl. And her explanation was, she could see the 'burgers', describing the labia, the female external genitalia. It is like a 'lip like structure', which is why the doc said like a burger. Personally I couldn't see clearly the scan, but I guess she is more professional to read it. Somehow she reserve her statement by saying that she can only conclude 99% girl. If it is a boy, then it is 100% definite. For girl, she can only say 99%, as there is a slight possibility that it could be otherwise.
Hubby remain quiet there. Ha ha, I knew there is a slight disappointment there, all men the same, and I knew he wanted a bubbly, naughty boy to play about. Anyway, Angel is his creation, and I believe he will love her as much as I do. And soon she'll become Daddy's girl in future.

Third PPUM checkup : 26 August 2009

This round, I drove myself to the checkup. Hubby wasn't free to take time off work. I reached PPUM around 7.15am. Managed to get the number 1002, second person. My urine and blood pressure test is normal. I put on 6.1kg, 2.5kg more than the second checkup.
This time I do not have to wait long to be called in. I told the doc about my diarrhea. I have been passing out soft watery type for the past one week. I do not know if it is due to the milk I drank. I went to buy another can of milk, and the Dumex salesperson came to promote the brand. I just thought why not I try once since it is the original taste and claimed to be the lowest fat content of all brands.
Doc said it shouldn't be the case. Somehow I need to monitor myself. And this round, they gave me a tetanus shot. Tetanus as defined in the Wikipedia as follows:-

Tetanus
, also called lockjaw, is a medical condition characterized by a prolonged contraction of skeletal muscle fibers. The primary symptoms are caused by tetanospasmin, a neurotoxin produced by the Gram-positive, obligate anaerobic bacterium Clostridium tetani. Infection generally occurs through wound contamination and often involves a cut or deep puncture wound. As the infection progresses, muscle spasms develop in the jaw (thus the name "lockjaw") and elsewhere in the body.[1] Infection can be prevented by proper immunization and by post-exposure prophylaxis.[2]

This shot is the first dose, there will be two doses all together. Next would be a month later. The shot can last for about three years. Whichever come earlier, either 3 years or next pregnancy, I would need to repeat this step again.
I went back to office after lunch. And for the first time, I felt Angel's major movement. Angel is kinda of pushing my belly from left to right and I can feel the impact. I do not know if Angel is moving upside down. Not only that, I felt that my belly is growing very fast. Somehow I felt tired than before. Poor me, I have to wash my own clothes. I really hoping that Sept 20 will come very very soon. I really need a washing machine. I'm so restless now!!!!!

Home Sweet Home Update 8

As of Monday, the contractor has completed the work for kitchen. All the three concrete tables are now complete. Looking at the photos taken by hubby, I am pretty much satisfied. Hmm, now Hubby's previous boss will prepare materials to construct the cabinets for my kitchen and island.
The grills for the main entrance has been installed. Hubby would have to work even harder from now on. He have about 25 days to prepare for our home. The next problem to worry is the installation of the air-conditioners. Somehow, they would need to cut up the plaster ceiling to hide the cables and pipes. And hubby would need to arrange his time off again. I can only stand beside and support him morally. Kambateh!!!

Mega shopout for Angel

On Sunday, hubby took me to the Parenthood Expo 2009 in Midv Exhibition Centre. I thought to just do some survey on baby stuff, ie. bed, stroller, car seat, etc.
We never thought they would have clearance for baby stuff. First stop, the Bebe brand. Hubby picked three pair of shirt and pants at 70% off and a pair of pyjamas for RM 10. We bought the larger size, 6months to 1 year.

Next, Pigeon booth. Hmm, there are even more good bargains there. The shirts and pants are sold at RM 3 and above. The sales lady was very friendly to help us with the selection and provided us advices. The items we picked ranging from newborn up to 24 months.

Apart from the baby clothing, we also bought some toiletries and accessories for Angel.

They are the waterproof baby cot sheet, breastpads (72 pcs), 6 packs of baby wipes (non-scented), baby mittens and booties (3 pairs), pacifier holder and soaps to wash baby milk bottles, nipples and vegetables (1 bottle with 3 refill packs).
Hmm, this is the biggest buy so far for my little Angel. Hopefully Angel would look good in those clothing! Angel has not reveal gender to us, we just buy the unisex design, although there are some which I think Hubby picked the boy range. Guess he must be hoping alot that Angel would be a baby boy. Ha ha, we will know in another 3 months time!
I am now sourcing for mattress for Angel. We looked through items sold at Baby Love. They are selling the Coconut Fibre Mattress 28' x 52' for RM 239.00. And the 7-in-1 bedding package for RM 150. Their promotion will be valid till 5 Sept 2009. We are now considering and will compare with other shops first before we buy them.

Shopping for baby stuff

I started to look for baby stuff now. During Jusco day in Wangsa Maju (23 July 09), I bought 2 pieces of Cu Cuddles Velcro Binder for RM 4.24 each and 3 pairs of baby mitten & booties set for RM 10.90.

And today, we went to Ikano after lunch at Li Yin's house. The intention is to change my notebook cooler cum table at All IT Hypermarket which I previously bought two weeks ago. I didn't know how to use the cooler cum table, I thought it was faulty until I asked the salesman there. Then I passed through Mom's Care. They are selling the babysuits, 2 for RM12. We then decided to buy two pairs for our Angel. As of now, without knowing Angel's gender, I decided to stick to white colour. Finally we decided to buy 3 white and 1 blue for Angel.

I'm still quite blur into my upcoming parenting task. I knew there's alot to prepare for my newborn Angel. Perhaps I should take out the checklist and mark down which are the things to buy. I must do smart shopping right now, I have a pretty tight budget for Angel, sorry Angel as Mummy and Daddy have to prepare home sweet home for the three of us and also to welcome you as well. We'll be more hardworking to look for good buys!

Home Sweet Home Update 7

Hubby finally succeeded!!!! His very own light is fully installed. Hip hip hooray!!! Sigh of relief, I don't need to stay up late anymore. As long as he is installing, I will not have the chance to rest. Best of all, he install into my favourite shape, the round one. Best of all, he installed two of them. And I warned him pretty clear that don't ever uninstall them. Hmmm, here's his very own creation, big of applause everyone!!!!!!!

One of the lights!

Home Sweet Home Update 6

Hubby didn't do much on Monday and Tuesday. On Monday, the plaster ceiling contractor came over to open up the holes to install lights. Initially, Hubby thought of DIY, in the end, he just think it is impossible to DIY. They charged us RM 250 for 30 holes. Still, Hubby wasn't feeling satisfied with their work. Perhaps he wasn't willing to spend the money for such a simple work. Aiyah, I would rather they do it and not Hubby doing it. At least they are professionals.
Today, he started off painting our master bedroom. He commented on the wall where we covered the window with partition board. Somehow, because of the flaws, the wall is not even. It turned out to be patches all over. To me, it is all right as the wardrobe will cover most part of the wall. But he still wants to find solution to it.
Hubby is getting more and more ambitious. He expect that there will be 1-2 cans of paints extra and thought of taking them to change to other colours and create his own featured wall.
However, these two nights, he has something to busy with. Hmm, we bought a light in Bangkok. It is made of pieces of white hard plastic. Upon installation, you would see something like what is sold in Ikea. Of course, ours is much more cheaper than what we can get here. And the best thing is you can decide how you want it to be, round, square and etc. depending on the number of pieces of plastic you have. We bought sixty pieces at about RM50. And now Hubby is busy installing the light. It is indeed not easy, he install almost to the end, then found out that the shape wasn't like what it is supposed to be, and he started again. He did this for about 3-4 times. I managed to take a few shots on his work. Ha ha, publishing on Web, he wouldn't have realised!!!

Home Sweet Home Update 5

Last Saturday, we finally decided which tiles to buy for the island, kitchen and yard. Hubby chose 80cm x 80cm black tiles for island top. The body of the island would be a combination of red and white tiles. It has something like weaving lines design on the tiles, somehow better than the plain colour tiles. As for the yard wall and also the inner side of the three tables, we chose the white and silver tiles with mathematical grids. At first, Hubby was reluctant for them to deliver the tiles over as they charged us transportation fee. I finally convinced him to let them deliver as they are in big bulk and it would damage the car if we pick up our own. Turned out to be, the tiles pricing are discounted and the transportation fee is only RM 27.92. If we were to pick our own, at least we would need three to four rounds trip, in which petrol price would almost come to the price.
They delivered the tiles on Sunday. Throughout Saturday and Sunday, I was resting at home while Hubby trying hard to finish his painting works. He had completed two bedrooms so far and also the kitchen ceiling. He must be struggling!

Home Sweet Home Update 4

Hubby started to paint the house on Wednesday. He chose the smallest room to start with. And his comment on first day: PAINTING IS NOT EASY AT ALL. On the first day, he can only afford to paint the ceiling and two walls in the room. We bought white colour paints for the whole house, as I like white very much. At least my house will look cleaner and bigger. But hubby didn't like my idea that much. To him, the room look like a clinic or hospital as it is really white.
Then again I told him to get all painted in white. Just in case if we want to change to other colour, it can be done. Plus we have to carefully select the colour, if not we'll regret later. We have to browse through the Net and also see more catalogue to pick the right colour.
On the kitchen area, they have finished setting up table for yard and also the kitchen cabinet area. They must now wait for the cement to dry up before putting on the tiles on top. Hubby kind of regretted buying the tiles for the table top as the colour is somehow darker than what he saw at the shop. I find them ok when he showed the photos. We can't afford to change to other tiles anymore.
These few days the reno man did not come. Hubby continued his painting job till today. As of now, he is almost done with the second room. Tomorrow, we'll go to buy tiles for the yard wall and tiles for table (inside portion). He said he will paint the kitchen ceiling first since the people are not coming until next Tuesday. I fully support him and salute him. Painting all by himself is really not an easy task!!!!! Kambateh hubby!

14 weeks to go!

Today marked the 26th week of my pregnancy. In about 3 months time, I'll be welcoming my Angel to this world. Nervous and excited at the same time. I noticed that Angel starts to move about during day time. Previously Angel will only move when I am about to sleep. And now, I felt Angel's movements during office hours. Sometimes, when I placed my palm at my belly, it vibrates. Hahaha, Angel seem responding to sounds especially when I turn on any kind of music.
Right now, I seem to walk slower and slower. Can't afford to walk fast as before. The backache is still there, especially after washing my clothes.
The weather is now changing to raining days, something to cheer about. Then again, it is quite troublesome when comes to going back home from work. I must make sure I walk slow and steady and not to trip or fall. This whole week till next Thurs are ok, since my husband is fetching me. At times I felt lucky myself but also felt bad myself seeing hubby struggling to wake up everyday to fetch me. Somehow, no choice, his support is very important right now....I also demanded for back massage every night, haha...
Hopefully, I will always be blessed and everything is good and sound till the arrival of my Angel!

My backache just started!

Today, I experienced my first backache since pregnancy. No words could describe the pain, everything just don't feel right. No matter sitting down, walking about, even me writing this now, I could felt the pain inside. Washing the clothes became a task I wish I could avoid. I slowly understand how noble a mum is.
I could only tell hubby how I felt. I didn't expect him to say anything as he is now extremely tired to get things done for our new house. Today, he complained to developer that the tiles in the master bedroom has the hollow sound. Lucky enough, the contractor came to dig the tiles out and will replace new ones for us. However, the digging process was too dusty that hubby came home feeling not very well. He must have inhale lots of dust inside. What I could do to support is to cut fruits for him to eat, just to get him loads of Vit-C for stronger body.

Family's Day Out

Papa, Mummy and Jason travelled to KL last Saturday evening till Sunday evening. The main purpose is to attend my youngest sis's convocation in UPM. And also to visit their two granddaughters dearest.
Papa is good enough to bring us tons of fruits and also the paint brushes for hubby to paint the house. Mummy brought us the pineapple and kaya tarts. I rented a hotel room for them to stay a night. It was whole lot better than the previous hotel stay. And they had a chance to visit my semi-renovated house. I said that this would be the last time that they stay in the hotel, the next round would be camping in my new house. Thinking of that I am very excited myself!
On Sunday morning, Papa, Mummy and Y Woon went to UPM. Big congratulations to her for scoring a First Class Honours in Bachelor of Economics! The ceremony ended about 12 noon. Hubby, Jason and I arrived in time for photo taking. I bought a bear wearing a graduation hat for her. And we saw Sam's family there too! We took some pictures together.

Then we headed to Midvalley for lunch and also to meet up Theng and family. After the lunch, we went straight to Aunty Ivy's house. Mum wanted to visit granny who is currently not feeling well after a second fall at the old folks' home. The focus is now on the two princesses. With my Nikon D60 SLR, their daddy took a few shots of them together and it was so funny seeing them posing together!
First princess : San Ern

Second princess : San Hui

Two together, San Hui looking lost!
San Ern showing her big sister hug!

Papa, Mummy and Jason left KL at 5pm. Hmm, when will be their next trip???

Home Sweet Home Update 3

The installation of the plaster ceiling finally ended last Friday. Hubby took half day off to inspect the ceiling, just to ensure that all holes have been covered with white cement. Also to pay the bill to the man-in-charge, Lau. The outcome was ok, previously hubby couldn't accept on Thurs, but now it is all right. It will be beautiful when he paint a fresh new coat of paint and install downlights in.
Today, Alan (man-in-charge for kitchen) came to start the work. This whole week until Aug 20 are also days off for hubby. He's clearing his wedding leave and also to paint the house. I figure out that he will be very tired, juggling between the house renovation and also to fetch me to and off work. Anyhow, man is always man. He is confident that he can go through and I have to support him!

My belly starts to get itchy!

Today, I can feel that my belly is extremely itchy. And the sad thing is I can't be scratching all the time. According to friends, it is a sign that the belly muscles begins to stretch bigger to accomodate my Angel's growth. I can feel that the belly gets harder. And my body temperature increases. I felt hotter especially during night time. I would woke up every morning with my belly exposing and my T-shirt all up to the chest area. And Hubby always cover me up with my big pillow or my blanket and it irritated me. I just feel very very very hot.
I should begin my countdown to my moving into my home sweet home. I wanted to enjoy sleeping in an air-conditioned room. At least till my Angel is out. The weather is weird these days, hot and hazy. I pray and pray hard that Sept 20 will come very very very soon!

Home Sweet Home Update 2

Today is Hubby's day off. The second work starts, the installation of the plaster ceiling. And also the installation of the partition board for my bedroom's window. I could not imagine how my house would look like, I could only visualize with my hubby's updates.
Hubby is good to tell me the whole process. He talked non stop when I got into the car after work. Which is why I want to pen all down for memory. No photos can be shown, Hubby is too busy to take the camera along. Perhaps I should ask him to take a shot when the plaster ceiling is done.
I do not know how many more days they need to complete the ceiling, perhaps by end of this week.
Next Monday, another contractor will come to do the kitchen and yard. This is what I've been waiting for. The favourite place of all.

And I pray hard that everything will run smoothly.

Home Sweet Home Update 1

Renovation work for our home sweet home finally kicked off on last Thursday, 30 July. Hubby's friend came to do the wiring work to facilitate the installation of downlights. Hubby decided to put on plaster ceiling for the house. The three rooms are all with flat board while the living hall, dining hall and kitchen are installed with L-box. I do not understand the conversation they had, neither the design of the plaster ceiling. Only hubby knows best. And the wiring work finally completed on Saturday, 1 Aug.
