I knew it is about time for me to update my blog. I treated myself for a vacation by joining Ora to a trip to Hangzhou and Shanghai from 16-25 October 2010. It all started when Ora said that she is going to visit the Shanghai Expo 2010. She will be provided with free accomodation and thus can allow to bring a friend along. There she came and pop me the question. I thought and thought, and asked for consent from my hubby. Little did I know that he agreed to let me go and willing to take up the responsibility as both Daddy+Mummy throughout my vacation.
I guess in my whole lifetime I did not travel to overseas as much like she did. I handed the whole responsibility to her to plan for the vacation. I voiced my concern to go to shop for my girl's clothing. Not much sightseeing needed, I said. I can shop, shop and shop.
We reached Hangzhou and stayed for a night. We had the chance to walk around the town the following day.
We took a train down Shanghai at about 6pm. I was feeling like being sold as a slave while taking the train. No seat is provided, we bought the wrong train tickets, I was tired, and there goes our one and a half hour in the train. The minute we reached Shanghai, we boarded a taxi and headed to her friend's house. Ivy@Haylsen, I remembered.
We went to Shanghai Expo 2010 for the following two days. We were lucky to be able to purchase the admission tickets at the lower price. Thanks to Rachel from Technip Shanghai. I tell you, the place is absolutely huge, very very nice, amazing, clean......salute to the China government for organising such a wonderful place for us to visit. Of course we did not get to go into all the Pavillions, however we managed to capture hundreds of photos. I would like to thank Ora for teaching me on how to use my DSLR, and I even received compliments for able to take such great photos.
Next, Ora took me to tailor made my office clothes, RMB 90 per piece. I would say it is value for money - we choose the cloths, we choose the design, and they will finish tailoring in a few days time. Then, it is my girl's clothes hunting days. We went to a place called Chi Pu Road, something like Sungei Wang complex. There are about 4-5 complexes here, each level selling clothings for men, women, kids and etc. I shopped like mad, bought lots lots of clothes for Kye Xin. The bonus is they were extremely cheap, many of them cost less than RM10 each.
Apart from all this, Ora took me to go for some sightseeing, namely The Bund. I loved those night views. I missed hubby and Kye Xin alot while I was there. I also managed to buy some tea leaves, gifts and souvenier for relatives and friends.
Overall, I find my money is well spent for this trip. Though tired walking, taking public transport everyday, but I am glad to join in this trip with Ora. Big and sincerely thank you to Ora Ong.
